This is a fantastic process! We placed our add on Monday at noon, held the group interview Wednesday night, and scheduled our call backs on Thursday! Some questioned our tactics, some ran away (thank God!) and some beamed brightness above the rest! Thank you for laying it out so clearly and helping other DCs to be more efficient and effective!

I like to give them all a small gift to thank them for their time and spread goodwill about our office. We give a copy of Chicken Soup for the Chiropractic Soul and a voucher for a free consultation/examination.

To add on Christiana's comment, I've also seen some offices plant a spy in the group (a CA who is pretending to be applying for the job) to see who is most social when the DC's are not present.

i like the 1, 3 and 5 year goals. when i use to interview people, i would put them into situations that are familiar with the career they are choosing. you can ask them something that will make them think and how they will react, then you evaluate them. i also like interviews that made people feel comfortable, that way they can be themselves and you can see if your personalities meshed.

I've heard of the group interview before, but that explanation was far more detailed and amazing than any I've ever heard.

I, too, have always dreamed of a job in "Chiropractory."

To add a suggestion to the group interview, one trait a "superstar" may possess is the natural ability to strike up conversations with those around them and make them feel comfortable talking. I would suggest when having a group interview to notice who, if any are making an effort to be social and be friendly to their fellow job candidates. Does this appear to come naturally to them? This might be a good tactic in helping to identify someone who appears to take a genuine interest in those around them and may make an excellent front desk person.
